Our founder, Charley, brings over 20 years of expertise across every tier of the education sector. Having served as a qualified secondary school teacher in both the UK and Dubai, a primary school governor driving enterprise, equity, diversity, and belonging, and a Head of Operations at a Russell Group university, Charley has spent two decades navigating how young people learn, grow, and transition into higher education and beyond.

The spark for Get The Edge came from a deeply personal place. After returning to the UK from Dubai, Charley witnessed a striking contrast: while private international schools abroad routinely immersed pupils in elite extra-curriculars, enterprise sprints, and high-level public speaking, UK state schools were often stretched too thin to offer the same depth of academic stretch. Watching her own high-ability children navigate a system lacking those critical extra-curricular opportunities, Charley decided to bridge the gap herself.
